WEATHER GUARD Black Rear Ladder Rack for 1450 Series (1/2 Set) - Heavy Duty Truck Accessory for Construction & Roofing Professionals

I purchased this rack to be used in tandem with my Westin headache rack. I considered purchasing the Westin half rack but I decided on the weather guard weekender because according to their website the rack could be removed when not in use. I found this to not be true after assembly. The self tapping screws included in the kit cause the tubing to be warped and I can not remove the upper half of the rack from the mounting base without completely removing the mounting base from my truck. The push fasteners that are included with the kit are a joke. Half of them spun in place as I tried tightening them and the rest after being fully tightened were easily removed from the bed when little pressure was applied to the mounting base. I opted out of using the fasteners and instead purchased 5/16”x1-1/2” all thread bolts with lock washers and nuts to fasten the base directly to the frame. Kit also includes a tube of black RTV sealant to seal all crevices to be able to warranty the rack system. None of the anchor point holes were drilled from the factory. I’m truly disappointed with this product. I have owned weatherguard toolboxes on several different trucks and they have always delivered a quality product. I assumed that this rack would be made with the same level of quality but I was mistaken. Save yourself some money and buy a Westin rack for half of the price
